Blog Post #5: I was abducted by aliens last night.

I was abducted by aliens last night. It was a regular school night. I was just done with my homework and I was about to binge watch netflix, when  I heard screaming outside. My neighbors were all freaking out about an odd spacecraft hovering above us. In our case, my dad was most certainly excited. He loved sci-fi things. This was a fantasy of his, and he wasn't about to let anybody ruin it. He sprinted outside with his video camera. My mom was peering out the window with a worried look.
      "Is that real?" I asked.
" I'm not sure honey. I think it's best that you go up to your room. Go on honey." my mom said.
When I opened my door, two aliens were standing in the middle of my bedroom. I couldn't speak. I was in shock. I was flabbergasted. One alien had a silver mask on. It had reptile purple skin, and was shaped like any cliche alien we thought of. Except it had tails. The other one looked similar but it was blue. I realized my mouth was wide open.
"La-de-po same." The alien spoke. What was the alien saying?
"I don't understand you." I uttered. The aliens both took my hand and jumped out the window. I couldn't even scream, seems like my voice won't work. They took me into their spaceship, which was decorated EXACTLY like my room. Everything was exactly the same. My brain overloaded with shock.
"M-m-m-my room! This is my room!" I exclaimed.
        "Le-ko-sauve." The alien said.
"What are you saying??" I asked. Nothing. They flew at full speed. I couldn't see the sky anymore. I saw my memories. I saw when I fell off my bike when I was eight. I saw my future, my wedding. I saw a funeral, I didn't know who's it was. I saw my kids. I saw my first words. I saw my life.
Next thing you know, I was in my room again. I ran downstairs.
"Mom? Dad?" I peered in the kitchen. My mom smiled as she stirred the pasta. My dad chuckled.
"Hey hon. That was quite a nap you took."

Blog post #4 How was my fall break?

How was your Fall break? Please share your best or worse memory from Fall break. What would you change about your break? What would you keep the same?
During fall break, I had a lot of time to myself. I enjoyed myself with netflix and I ate A LOT. Also, I enjoyed dancing on Saturday and hanging out with my friends during the week. I pierced my ears recently, which I am quite excited about. I would change my sleep schedule because I didn't get to sleep well. The worst memory during fall break was taking a 4 hour diagnostic test for a psat prep, and not doing so well on it either. I loved eating with my family and binge watching with my friends. I loved spending more time with my dog too.

Blog Post #3 My proudest moment

My proudest moment so far is not that grand or life changing. However, it meant a lot to me and impacted my life a lot. I do dance a lot and I didn't start long ago, so when I was put in advanced placement I was more than a nervous wreck. I persevered extra hard and I was really determined to be as good or even better than my peers. I never had a specific goal for myself but I knew I was going to know when I reached my peak. Working extra hard was no vacation, but it was completely worth it when I achieved my goal.
One day, when I was at dance, we had an exam. I was completely anxious and panicked until the exam. The class was just a blur, so when I finished the exam, I didn't know how I did. I got the results, and they were more than good. I was so exhilarated and knew that I had reached my goal. If not for the support of my family, my teachers, friends, and peers, I would've never made it. They encouraged me when I was exhausted or discouraged. I knew everything was worth it.

Blog Post #1: "If you were a superhero (real or original), who would you be and why? What superpowers would you have? Describe how your superhero looks. (Copy/paste images into your post if possible)."

Blog Post #1: "If you were a superhero (real or original), who would you be and why? What superpowers would you have? Describe how your superhero looks. (Copy/paste images into your post if possible)."

If I were to be a superhero, I'd be the Flash. I feel like the Flash's speed and commitment helps people inhumanely. I love how the flash puts himself in jeopardy to help his citizens. He has amazing speed and his red costume looks fascinating when he is going fast. His superpower is being extremely fast (obviously) and it can do amazing things. He can defy gravity with his speed, as well as travel through time. I love how he is constantly thinking about the safety of the citizens, not himself. He is often very selfless, which is a crucial characteristic in being a superhero.

Liberating the internet--Ted Talk

In the Ted Talk that we watched, Wael Ghonim talked about the different negative elements about the internet these days.
One of the most main points he talked about are 5 critical challenges that we are facing in today's social media. The first one was that people don't know how to deal with rumors. The rumors are also bias. The second challenge is that we create our own echo chambers. Meaning we only communicate with people we like, and we block someone we don't like. The third challenge is that online discussions quickly turn into angry mobs and arguments. Wael mentioned "It's as if we forget people behind screens are real people." The fourth challenge is that it became really hard to change our opinions. We jump to conclusions, and changing your mind seems like an open invitation for criticism. The fifth conclusion, Wael talks about how "It's as if we are online to talk at each other, not with each other." We never really have deep thoughtful conversations.
Some suggestions that Wael Ghonim mentions is that if we start sharing our true opinions, people will strive to be more thoughtful. Another suggestion is that we must try to find the solution, not the problem,. Additionally, we need to rethink today's social media ecosystem and redesign its experiences to rewaes thoughtfulness and understanding.

What are the top 10 most important inventions in your life? -February missing-

There are a lot of important inventions in my life. Better yet, if you think about it, inventions are what everything is made of. The first important invention is the iphone. I use the phone daily, and I can't function daily without it. The second is the microwave. I have used the microwave so many times in my life, saving me from starvation. I microwaved any kind of food, and voila!, food! The third is the bed. Whoever invented the bed is a genius because I need that cushion-y pile of blankets and pillows each night. The fourth invention is the pipes system. Without pipes, I wouldn't be able to receive water, no one could. Without water, we ultimately die. The fifth important invention is the toothbrush. Although there are many ways to brush your teeth, I don't think any method is as thorough and precise as the toothbrush. Without it, ewe would all reek of decaying breath and teeth. A sixth important invention is the printer. We now don't have to go through the painstaking hours of copying. the 7th is my pencil. The 8th is paper, The 9th is my shoes. Without shoes, I'd be barefoot and bleeding. The last is my furniture.

What digital footprints have I left behind? -February missing blog post-

Some prints I left behind were maybe instagram posts with personal information. Or, I have created trendy hashtags that trended along social media such as twitter. I've also commented on posts. Additionally, I have posted many things that have re-posted. And I posted pictures of me which could be an example of a digital footprint. I posted pictures of other people. simply put, whatever I have posted on social media is a digital footprint. Any personal information can be a digital footprint too.

My own holiday

If I could create my own holiday I would create the International Technology Day. AKA I.T.D. I would celebrate the birth of technology. Although we cannot pinpoint the exact day for this, we can pinpoint a day when technology became advanced for everyone. For example, we celebrate the day Apple was exposed to the world. Technology has taken a huge role in our lives so I think we should celebrate the day we had it introduced in them. Our daily lives are founded upon technology, more specifically electronics. Any human on this earth can celebrate this holiday because technology is a part of everyone's life.

What do you want to do when you grow up?

When I grow up, I will make sure I avenge my hatred towards Mr.Tran. Just kidding! When I grow up, I want to be an model/doctor. I also want to dance as a hobby. I currently do ballet, jazz, acro, etc. I want to create a family and meet my perfect partner at the ages 25-28. I will be wealthy enough to live in Beverly Hills. I plan to have about 2-3 children, 2 being the minimum. I will be healthy and happy. (Without Mr. Tran.) I want to be a successful woman who can and will do more than what people expect of her. I will be happy with my future husband. Additionally, I'll own 2 dogs. I will also be friends with Emma Watson. Bye.

My spring break and my goals for this trimester

During my spring break, I wanted to catch up on my sleep. However, Netflix got in the way many times. I went to church everyday because we had a special training. Additionally, I went shopping and ate tremendously. I spent quality time with some of my friends that I don't get to see often. I, however, regret not being able to spend time with my dad. I FINALLY CLEANED MY ROOM! Which is very exciting considering it looks like the depths of hell except with the usual 13 year old things.
I have many goals for this trimester. First off, I seriously want to stop being lazy and procrastinating. I feel like although I am a bright student, I don't work up to my potential because of my bad habits. More specifically, I want to read MANY MANY more books. I currently only have four books, which is rather depressing. Also, I want to finish the last 5 lessons of Study Island and get 100% study island. And most importantly, I strive to get my digital portfolio DONE. I haven't done progressed at all on my portfolio, and without finishing it, I won't be able to pass 7th grade. *has panic attack* I am being ridiculously lazy these days and I want to seriously fix it. Besides that, I think I am doing great.

Do I agree with my personality type?

According to the personality survey I took, I am, for a lack of better word, popular. They said in high school, ESFJs are the cheerleaders and the quarterbacks, setting the tone, taking the spotlight and leading their teams forward to victory and fame.  I think I agree with along with the other things they said. However, they said ESFJ's are usually not interested in scientific theories or European debates. I disagree with this because I often find theories interesting. Also, if it is for a good cause, I would even participate in the debates. I think I am intuitive rather than observant. Additionally, the test stated that I am rather good at art. However we all know I am not skilled in art. I am energetic and talkative though. According to the survey I am turbulent. However I usually speak my opinion. I am reasonably good at confronting people unless I am the one that did something wrong also. ;) ;)
the survey said I am an overprotective parent. I disagree. Having overprotective parents myself, I think I would be very laid back. Everything else is accurate though.

How will I be a better digital citizen using the information we learned yesterday?

I can be a better digital citizen by being aware of my environment on the internet. The topic Security and Privacy talked about how we must have secure passwords and be careful of personal information. I, myself will put these elements into action and be conscientious of my decisions. Additionally, I will not use untrusted or public devices, or make sure to log out of one if I do.  I will not be cruel to other people on the internet and won't post anything that may have negative effects. Also, I'll make sure not to commit copy right. I won't click on any suspicious pop ups or ads. I will not be addicted to the internet. I won't share my password with any other friend. I'll be aware of my rights and responsibilities.

What was the most disappointing or saddest day of my life?

The saddest day of my life was when I lost my dog, Selena. LOLLOLLOLLOL don't laugh at the name I was 5. Anyways, she was my prize possession, friend, and buddy. Watching her leave was the hardest thing that ever happened in my life. I don't know why she left so it is even more difficult to deal with. I missed her so much and cried myself to sleep remembering the days I wasn't so good to her. I love her and I still do.  I miss her with all my heart. I'm sad every time I think about how I wronged Selena. I will always love and remember her.

What was the happiest day of your life?

I don't have an especially happy day however I do have happy times every time I hang out with my family. Family is without doubt the most important thing in my life. And to spend time with them makes me exhilarated. Spending time with my dad, grandma, and all my cousins make me truly happy. I love looking at everybody laugh and love each other. Which is also why I love Christmas. Christmas is when all the families gather together with hot chocolate and red and green socks. I love spending time with my family and that is what makes me happiest. Also, I love my dog, which is also family.

Do I agree with New york's sugar ban? Why or why not?

I agree with the sugar ban because not only does it puts peoples' lives at risk but it will soon effect the earth and all our surroundings. The obesity epidemic has increased greatly but the New York mayor has taken actions to it. Studies show that the less portion of whatever drink or food you have in front of you, the less you eat or drink. So it is only logical that you lessen the portion of sodas you buy. New Yorkers shouldn't get upset at this decision because we haven't taken away anything but the portion of the cups. You still have access to however many sodas you want. I believe this is a good decision that has been made because it helps everybody with the risk of health defects but it doesn't make anything unfair.

What I would say to an alien coming down to Earth, in a letter?

Dear Alien,                                                                                                                                               I realize this will be your first time on Planet Earth. We hope you come in peace, for we are welcoming you in open arms. What it is like to live on Planet Earth is absolutely astonishing. It is truly indescribable what you will experience down here. There is grief, anger, bitterness, nervousness, sadness, etc. However there is happiness, gladness, relief, and much more. These sensations are what you call feelings or emotions. Additionally, there is so much food here it is impossible not to eat. ( If you are in the right side of Earth, of course.) Entertainment is a big factor to our society. You can watch movies, comedy stand ups, we'll explain when you arrive. I hope you need not to feel threatened at all.

My favorite movie or book of all time?

I love many different types of movies, such as Chappie, Divergent, or white Chicks. I love every movie that sticks to me and one I can remember the dialouge to. However I think my favorite movie of all time is Miss Granny. Although it is a korean movie, and I don't watch korean movies, I think it has a very special message. It's also extremely hilarious, but emotionally deep at the same time. It's honestly the best movie ever and I think about my grandma every time I watch it. This is one of those movies I can watch over and over again. IT'S THE BEEESSSTTT! Please go watch it.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could be anywhere, I would be in a beachhouse with my family and friends. I would be swimming in the pools and the beach. I would also be relaxing and sun bathing with a coconut drink. I would have zero homework and just enjoy my time laughing and talking. At night, me and my friends would watch a movie and cuddle together. The food would be magnificent. Preferably Hawaii, where it would be sunny and cool.

What is my favorite kind of music?

My favorite kind of music is the mainstream pop songs in this age. Some examples of my favorite songs are My House by Flo rida, Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots, Lost Boy by Ruth B, or even Make Up by R.City ft. Chloe Angelides. I usually like songs with strong beats or a strong chorus. These are just a few of my favorite songs, I do have much more.

For my last meal, I would want my grandmother's fried rice. I love my grandmother and her fried rice was a tradition in our family. My family had many good memories because of the fried rice. This particular meal makes me feel at home and happy. Before I die, I want to have that feeling again. Also, I want that to represent my grandma and how much joy she brings to me and my family. Therefore I want frieed ricceeeee!

3 things I would need on an island

If I was stuck on an island, I would bring a water bottle to collect dew from the plants at dawn for water. Secondly, I would bring a year's supply of food. Lastly, I would bring Mr. Tran, and of course he won't come willingly so I am going to kidnap him and bring him so he can sing while he slowly starves to death. If I were to be stuck on an island, I would be very resourcful and wouldn't be making irrational stupid decisions.

Who is the most important person in my life and role model?

The most important person in my life is my grandma. She has took care of me after a lifetime of taking care of her own children and grandchildren. She has stood by me through the most difficult times. She is energetic, passionate, and determined. My grandma has always been a role model. I can't think of any better version of her. She has made me who I am today, without her I don't know what kind of person I would be. I've learned countless things from her. -Hannah Han

What are my goals for this quarter in Technology and all your classes?

My goals for this quarter in my classes are to get 96% or higher on all my assignments and tests. In English, especially, to complete all my projects on time and to complete IWOC every night. Also, I want to learn new vocabulary to use in my reports and when I am speaking. I want to go above and beyond other students with tasks given inside the classroom. In Technology, my goals are to not become anxious when I do not know how to finish an assignment. Additionally, I want to become patient with the computers. Lastly, I just want to try my best in everything I am given to do and stop procrastinating.

If I could be any superhero

If I could be any superhero, I would like to be invisible. I would be invisible so I can get out of extremely difficult situations. Also, I can have the ability to read other peoples' minds. This would be so cool and I can know if anybody is lying or what they're thinking. These superpowers won't make me a superhero but have abilities to act normal but have better advantages. Additionally, I can help or save other people through my abilities.

If I had a million dollars

If I had a million dollars:
If I had a million dollars, I would put most of it in my savings for the future. Then I would give a decent amount of it to my parents and grand parents. Lastly, if I had leftovers, I would spend it on some clothes and decorations. I think family and the people around you are always more important than money no matter how much of it you have so it's the least I could do to share it with them. I might never know what circumstances might be in the future so I would save majority of it. I am, of course, human so I would spoil myself a little too. Clothes and decorations would be the best for me.

What I did over Winter break

During winter break, I spent my leisure time watching netflix and relaxing. I did not get much sleep though, because of netflix. I also spent my time practicing ballet along with attending church retreats and hiking. Additionally, I got to spend more time with my friends outside of school. I met up with some friends from outside of school and we had a blast. I binged on a lot of foods, too. I did absouluely no studying.
